Can I borrow your pen please?

Sometimes,we need to borrow things like a pen from our friends or anybody near to us. So, we need to ask them in a polite way and make sure to return it back to the person. How do you ask to borrow somebody else's pen? Here are some examples of how to ask for a pen in a polite way...

Excuse me, may I borrow your pen please?

(don't forget to say please)

Do you mind if I borrow your pen?

(you can use this one too)

Can I use your pen for a while?

(this sounds polite too)

You can use these sentences to borrow somebody else's pen, or something else. But we have to make sure to return it back and take a good care of it. And remember, ask politely, with a smile. Smiling is a form sadaqah(donation)

And when someone else wants to borrow your pen, these are some of suggested answers.

Yes, sure. Here it is.

BUT,,,,,,,,

if the person ask you 'Do you mind if I borrow your pen?'

you need to be careful because if you say YES, it means you mind if he/she wants to borrow your pen. Say NO, means you don't mind lending him/her your pen.

AND DON'T FORGET TO SMILE!!!

Start a vocabulary (new word) notebook.
Write words in alphabetical order (A...B...C...).
    Make example sentences.
Always use an English-English dictionary first.

  6. Keep an English diary
    Start with one sentence.
    How do you feel?
    How is the weather?
    What did you do today?
    Write another sentence tomorrow.

  7. Visit an English speaking country
    Learn English more quickly.
    Stay with an English family.
